Blogger vs Wordpress: Which is for you?

So finally I have decided to come up with my own personal blog with my own domain name. I had been searching for the best platform that suits my needs. It will always boils down to two most used platform. Blogger or Wordpress. Then I look on ease of use and reliability. Then the cost of maintenance. After all considerations, I settled on using Blogger.

Why Blogger

•  Cost - Though I want to have my own domain name, I would not want to spend additional money for hosting my website. 
•  Reliability - I don't expect my blog to draw heavy traffic, but if it does, I won't worry about being over loaded.
•  Secure - I won't worry about paying monthly subscription for https certificate.
•  Searchability - I still believe that google search engine will look into blogger faster than other platform.

Known Cons (Also known as Why Wordpress)

• Control - Google is hosting your website. Service maybe stopped anytime. (Though I believe google will give sufficient notice in case it decides to stop blogger). 
• Google terms - I have to adhere with google terms and conditions. In self
• Customization - For a non web designer like me the level of customization of my website is much better had I did it with Wordpress with tons of widget and tools. 

Everyone have their own reasons for putting up their website. Your preferred platform will be depending on your needs and purpose. If you need absolute control, definitely self hosted Wordpress is for you. But if you want a reliable personal blog, I'm with you on blogger.
